Every DALEA bag comes back to the atelier once a year, for as long as you own it: cleaned, conditioned, checked, repaired if anything needs it. This is where the guarantee lives.
The DALEA Guarantee
A piece made by hand should be kept by the hands that made it. Every DALEA bag is guaranteed for life against the way it was made, and looked after by our atelier for as long as you own it.

Our promise
For the life of the piece, DALEA guarantees the original owner against defects in manufacture. If a seam opens, a fitting comes loose, or an edge fails because of how it was made, we repair it. Where repair is not possible, we replace the piece. The guarantee is attached to the certificate number and belongs to the first owner named on it.
What is covered
- Stitching: any saddle stitch that opens or breaks.
- Hardware attachment: the magnetic closure, the feet, and any brass fitting that detaches or fails.
- Edge finishing: hand-painted edges that crack, peel or lift.
- Lining seams: any seam of the suede lining, the zip pocket or the slip pockets.
Cover for these defects lasts for the life of the piece and is not limited in time.
Complimentary repairs for two years
For the first two years from the date on your certificate, we repair anything at no charge, whether or not it is a defect. A scuffed corner, a stretched handle, a mark we can lift, ordinary wear from ordinary use: bring it in and we will attend to it. Collection and return within Georgia are included.
After two years
After the second anniversary, repairs of wear and full re-conditioning are carried out at cost. We send a written estimate before any work begins, and nothing is done until you approve it. Repairs of covered manufacturing defects remain free for life.
The annual care appointment
Once a year, for as long as you own the piece, you may book a complimentary conditioning appointment. We clean and feed the leather, brush the suede, polish the brass and check every seam and fitting. In Tbilisi we collect and return the bag ourselves. Elsewhere in Georgia we arrange courier collection. Write to atelier@dalea.ge to book.
What is not covered
- Damage from misuse, including overloading the bag or carrying sharp or leaking objects in it.
- Immersion in water or prolonged soaking.
- Contact with chemicals, solvents, household cleaners, cosmetics or ink.
- Damage caused by pets.
- Work carried out by anyone other than the DALEA atelier.
- Theft or loss.
Even where damage is not covered, we can usually repair it. Ask for an estimate before assuming the worst.
How to claim
- Email atelier@dalea.ge with your certificate number, a short description of the issue, and photographs.
- We reply within two working days with our assessment and the next step.
- If the piece needs to come to the atelier, we arrange collection anywhere in Georgia. For pieces abroad, we advise on the safest route.
- We tell you how long the work will take before we begin, and return the piece with a note of what was done.
Authenticity
Every piece carries its serial number embossed inside, and that serial matches the number on its certificate. DALEA sells directly to invited clients only. We do not sell through resellers, boutiques or online marketplaces. A bag offered anywhere else, or without a matching certificate, is not one we can vouch for. If you see a suspicious listing, please tell us at atelier@dalea.ge.
The certificate
The numbered certificate is the record of your piece. It carries the serial, the drop number and the date of completion. Keep it with your order confirmation. You will need it for guarantee claims, care appointments and, should you ever pass the piece on, to show its provenance. If a certificate is lost, we can confirm the serial from our records and issue a replacement copy.
Leather Care
Full-grain calfskin does not need much. It needs the right little. These notes cover the habits that keep a Clochette handsome for decades.

Every day
Carry the bag as you like; the leather is meant to be used. Avoid prolonged direct sun and sources of heat such as radiators, car dashboards or a warm laptop, which dry the hide and dull the Midnight. Keep pens capped and cosmetics closed inside the zip pocket. Do not overfill. The structure holds its shape best when the magnetic closure meets without strain.
Cleaning
Wipe the outside with a soft, dry cloth. That is all most weeks require. For a mark that does not lift, wait for the annual care appointment or write to us before trying anything else. Never use household cleaners, wet wipes, alcohol, or any product not made for full-grain leather.
Liquids
If something spills, blot at once with a clean dry cloth. Press; do not rub. Rubbing spreads the liquid and drives it into the grain. Let the area dry naturally at room temperature. Most water marks fade as the leather dries. If a mark remains, tell us. Do not treat it yourself.
Storage
When the bag is not in use, stuff it lightly with tissue paper so the sides stay upright, and put it in its cotton dust bag. Store it upright, away from direct light, in a room with normal humidity. Never store leather in plastic; it needs to breathe. Do not hang the bag by its handles for long periods.
The suede lining
Brush the bordeaux suede with a soft suede brush, in one direction, to lift dust and restore the nap. Do not use water on suede. If something is spilled inside, empty the bag, blot, and let the interior dry fully with the bag open before closing it.
Hardware
The brass is solid and brushed, not plated, so it will not chip or flake. Wipe it with a dry cloth. Over time it may warm in tone; this is natural. Do not use metal polish, which can reach the leather and stain it.
Weather
Light rain is fine. Shake off the drops, blot any that have settled, and let the bag dry at room temperature away from radiators and hair dryers. Avoid heavy rain and snow where you can, and never leave the bag wet inside a closed bag or a car.
Patina
Full-grain calfskin changes with use. The surface softens, the colour deepens where the hands rest, and the grain becomes more visible. This is patina. It cannot be faked and it cannot be hurried. A well-used Clochette at five years looks better than a new one, provided it has been looked after.
When to bring it in
Once a year, for the complimentary care appointment. And at any time if a seam opens, a fitting loosens, an edge cracks, or a mark will not lift. Write to atelier@dalea.ge and we will arrange collection. Do not let a small problem become a large one; early repairs are simpler and leave no trace.
